REP. LAMONICA MCIVER CHARGED WITH ASSAULT
Democrat Lawlessness Meets Justice: Rep. McIver Charged for Assaulting Law Enforcement
For years, the American people have watched a double standard unfold before their eyes: one set of rules for the political elites—especially if they wear a blue tie—and another for the rest of us. But that narrative may finally be cracking. In a rare but welcome act of courage and integrity, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem and Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey Alina Habba have announced federal charges against Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ) for assaulting and obstructing law enforcement at a federal detention facility.
Yes, you read that right. A sitting Democrat congresswoman has been charged with assaulting ICE officers after she and a pack of left-wing politicians—including Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman, Sen. Bob Menendez, and Newark Mayor Ras Baraka—stormed Delaney Hall, a federal immigration detention center in New Jersey. They claimed to be conducting “oversight.” What they actually did was trespass, disrupt federal operations, and—if the charges are to be believed—attack law enforcement officers in the process.
Mayor Baraka was arrested on the spot for criminal trespass. Now, Rep. McIver is facing the consequences of her actions thanks to an investigation by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Department of Justice. She has been charged under Title 18, U.S. Code, Section 111(a)(1), which covers assaulting, resisting, or impeding federal officers. That’s not some slap-on-the-wrist offense. It’s serious, and it should be.
In a statement on X, Secretary Noem said it plainly: “No one is above the law.” That’s something most Americans can agree with—but something far too many Democrat politicians believe doesn’t apply to them. We’ve seen it time and time again: the left weaponizing the justice system against their political opponents while shielding their own from any accountability. This time, they didn’t get away with it.
Acting U.S. Attorney Habba pulled no punches, declaring that McIver’s “conduct cannot be overlooked.” And she’s absolutely right. These aren’t just political theatrics—this is about respect for law and order, something the radical wing of the Democrat Party has been working to dismantle for years. Whether it’s defunding the police, demonizing ICE, or encouraging mob-style protests, their agenda is clear: chaos over control, anarchy over accountability.
Let’s be clear: this wasn’t “oversight.” It was a stunt. A dangerous, reckless, and illegal one. And now at least one of the offenders is being held to account.
ICE agents and federal law enforcement officers put their lives on the line every day to protect this country, and they’ve been smeared, undermined, and sabotaged by the very politicians who claim to support “justice.” Secretary Noem was right to thank these brave officers for doing their job—especially when doing so puts them at odds with the elite class that thinks laws are for the little people.
Justice isn’t partisan. It’s principled. And if we want to preserve this nation, the rule of law must be applied equally, regardless of whether you have a press team or a political war chest.
Let this be a message to the radical left: Your titles don’t make you untouchable. Your slogans don’t give you immunity. And your actions—especially when they threaten law enforcement—will have consequences.
It’s about time.
