
MAN COMES TO RETRIEVE PROPERTY FROM GIRLFRIEND'S APARTMENT, POLICE SAY SHE SHOOTS AND KILLS HIM
Neighbors at a Houston area apartment complex grew concerned when they heard a loud argument break out between a resident and her boyfriend last Sunday night - then a gunshot rang out. Javion Williams, was fatally shot by his ex-girlfriend when he went to retrieve his property from her apartment.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office said that officers who responded to the disturbance call found 22-year-old Javion Williams dead in the stairwell at the Derby Steeplechase Apartments, where Williams’ girlfriend Derricka Ross lived.
"He could not be saved and died on scene from at least one gunshot wound to the head," a news release from the Harris County Sheriff's Office said.
“The victim and defendant were reportedly in a dating relationship,” Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez wrote on social media, adding that Williams had came to Ross' apartment to collect his belongings when the argument broke out.
According to reports, the man had recently broken up with his girlfriend and had come to her apartment to collect his belongings. It is unclear what transpired between the two during the encounter, but things quickly escalated, resulting in a deadly confrontation.
Police Response and Investigation
Upon receiving multiple 911 calls, officers arrived on scene and found the man with a gunshot wound. Despite efforts to save him, Williams died from his injuries. Derricka Ross was taken into custody. Harris County Jail records reviewed by DARKHORSE REPORT staff indicate Ross is held on a $150,000 bond. She faces murder charges.
